Painting With Thread This class covers free motion machine thread embellishment on your fabrics. Learn how to create a thread appliqué picture and how to add thread details to your work. Your sewing machine needle becomes a free motion color pencil. Learn about threads, needles and stabilizers. It is much easier than you may think. |

Making Thread Lace on Your Machine This class is a free motion machine technique for creating lace with decorative and colorful threads. Class begins with a warm up exercise consisting of an easy piece of plain lace, then ends with a beautiful planned pattern that is suitable to frame or use on quilts and clothing. Learn about threads, needles and stabilizers. Fun and creative. |

CHEVRON PLACEMATS Everyone is intrigued by this creative braid that looks so difficult but is really so easy. Pat has designed her own pattern for a set of quick and easy place mats incorporating this scrappy technique. Learn this along with a quick turn and faux binding method that make these placemats work up in a jiffy. |

BINDINGS & SLEEVES Double fold bindings are not only durable but make a neat and crisp finishing edge on your quilt. Directions in books often make this binding look much more complicated than it is. In this class you will learn just how easy it really is. We will explore ways to make this simple binding add more pizzazz to your quilt by piecing multiple colors. Top it all off by learning 2 ways to apply a hanging sleeve right into your binding for small or large quilts. Work on small samples or bind one of your own small quilts or wall hangings. |

LAYERING FOR MACHINE QUILTINGThis class is specifically geared for the machine quilter, as layering techniques and quilt preparation are quite unique for this method. Class participants will have hands on experience in class. Pros and cons of pinning, hand basting, spray basting and the Quilt Tac System will be demonstrated. Learn about battings that make the job easier along with lots of other tips and hints. All you need to bring to class is a pen and paper for taking notes and any layering questions. This class is also suitable for hand quilters. |

ROTARY SKILLSWe all know that rotary cutting tools make quilting faster and more accurate- what did we ever do before they were invented?! If you would like to "sharpen" your rotary cutting skills and explore the many wonderful tools on the market then this class is for you! You will learn how to cut basic strips, squares and triangles, but best of all how to set up your cutting space so that you are not cutting by twisting around and standing on your head!! Quick cutting of 4 patches, half square triangles and bias strips will be just some of the other techniques covered. Learn how to use a square up, "Shar's Acrylic Templates", a revolving cutting board and some of the other fabulous tools on the market. You will even learn how to change your rotary blade!! This class is suitable for all skill levels but specifically geared for beginners. |

CRAZY PAPERBACK BOOK COVERCreate a unique paperback book cover using a machine piecing method of crazy quilting. You will learn how to finish with a double fold binding just like that on a quilt. We will make a standard paperback size cover in class but Pat will also show you how to adapt this pattern for larger books or a family heirloom book cover.
