Make this a mini workshop for your guild or group
 in place of a trunk show.

Certified Zentangle® Teacher, Pat Ferguson, will teach this relaxing and rewarding art form that can never fail. Requiring no artistic skills, this basic beginner class, is suitable for any and all skill levels. Even if you think you can’t draw, let me prove you wrong! I said the same thing until I drew my first zentangle® and then I was hooked.

Class is open to anyone age 12 and older.

zentangle ® applies to many fields of interest. It is therapeutic, non technical, helps break creative block and takes on its own form with each person’s individual style. Learn many basic patterns to get you started.

*No previous art experience necessary!

*No supplies needed- just come to class ready to begin a new adventure.

*Pat will supply all basic tools and materials needed.

*You will have plenty of table space, great lighting, coffee & tea.

*Zentangle Kits & additional supplies will be available for purchase.

Snippy Garden
Basic Fusible Appliqué - Mini Workshop

 

Pat has had so much fun working with snips and fusibles over the years and would like to share her experience with you. Learn how to work with Steam-A-Seam 2 and how to cut and shape many beautiful flowers while making a quick small wall piece. This is a very refreshing and fun class suitable for all skill levels.

 

Free Motion Basics-Machine Quilting

A quick introduction to working with your free motion foot.  We get your tension set and begin meander and types of stipple quilting. We cover topics of threads, needles and battings that are appropriate to use. Other techniques will be introduced as time allows.

 

Walking Foot Basics-Machine Quilting

A quick introduction to working with your walking foot. We set stitch length, stitch in the ditch and outline quilt. We cover topics of threads, needles and battings that are appropriate to use. Other techniques will be introduced as time allows.

 

Battings, Threads & Needles

Bring your battings, threads and needles to see what you can use and what should be “set aside”. Pat covers those that are best to use for hand or machine quilting, piecing and appliqué.

 

Thread Painting

Begin with a fabric motif- a flower, animal, etc. Then choose threads in any color. Learn how to turn these threads into paint by using your sewing machine needle as a paint brush. “Playing” with the free motion of your machine, you will create a thread painted appliqué that can be used for clothing or on a wall hanging. We will cover tips & hints on needles, stabilizers and decorative threads.

 

Machine Needle Lace

Have fun creating a piece of lace with leftover decorative threads and a special stabilizer. Using the free motion of your machine, you will create a piece of lace that can be used for embellishments on quilts or clothing. We will cover tips & hints on needles, stabilizers and decorative threads.
