Whether you would like an old quilt top quickly quilted for utility use or a new top custom quilted with specialty designs, Pat can do the job on her Gammill Optimum Plus Long Arm Quilting Machine. “Glorious Gloria Gammill” makes machine quilting easier and quicker and allows Pat to be  more creative than ever. Choose from hundreds of pantographs (edge to edge), custom designs, borders or overall meandering designs. Pricing is determined by quilt size and complexity of quilting. Pat will help you choose the best method and design to compliment your quilt. Pat also offers heirloom quilting, specialty threads, backing, batting, binding services and layering and basting services.

Pantograph designs are repeated “rows” of patterns that go from one edge to the other edge of your quilt. This also includes all over meandering with many choices from plain to fancy with swirls and curves.

Pantograph designs can also be limited to the central area of your quilt with borders added as a separate design element. When adding borders, this requires fitting the borders and the quilt to be unpinned and remounted. There is an additional charge for these separate borders depending on the size of your quilt.

Custom quilting is designed and priced individually for the quilt because each one is unique. Custom designs can include individual block designs, stitch-in-the-ditch, outlining, cross hatching, freehand quilting designs, or use of templates. Many of these include marking, measuring and centering which is time consuming.  

Examples of Custom Quilting Designs

Custom pricing:
.035 to.049 per square inch.

Heirloom quilts are priced individually and usually include tight stippling, small background grids, feathers, trapunto, and/or dense free hand quilting designs. This type of quilting is very labor intensive as it requires a great deal of marking, measuring and accuracy.

Pricing is .05 to .06  per square inch.

Thread and New Needle Charge

A new needle is used for each quilt.  Specialty Threads are quoted per job. The amount of thread used depends on the size of your quilt and complexity of quilting. Pat carries a wide variety of colors to easily match any quilt.  

Pricing is $5.00 per quilt & up.

Backing Services. If you don’ t have time or space to seam and square your backing, let Pat do it for you. Selvedges will be trimmed and seams pressed open. Pat offers wide backing fabric. Visit "Broads" to select a backing fabric for your quilt.

Pricing: Seaming is $12 per seam up to 70";
$15 per seam over 70".
Pat can also wash and press your backing fabric for you for an additional charge.

Binding Services are also available. Choose from "Half binding" - Pat will make your binding, machine sew it to the front of your quilt, then trim your quilt. It will be ready for you to hand sew or "Complete Binding" - Pat will make your binding, machine sew it to the front of your quilt, trim your quilt and hand sew it to the back with matching thread.

• you must supply 1 yard of pre-washed , uncut fabric.

• binding is double fold and finishes about 1/2” wide

• binding is cut on the "straight of grain" unless you have a curved edged quilt or specify bias cut

• small additional charge for bias cut binding.

  Binding Pricing: Half binding .12 per linear inch.  
Complete binding .27 per linear inch

Batting Services. For your convenience, Pat carries a full line of Quilter's Dream batting in most sizes. Choose from Dream Cotton, Dream Blend (70% cotton; 30% polyester), Dream Poly, Midnight Poly (black for dark quilts), Dream Angel (flame retardant),  DreamWool, Dream Green, and Dream Puff (1.5 times warmer than down).

When purchasing your batting from Pat, if your quilt fabric has been washed, Pat will wash and pre-shrink your cotton or blend batting for free.

Layering & Basting is available for hand or machine quilters. Pat will layer your quilt and baste it in 4” to 6”  parallel lines of easily removable basting stitches. Strong polyester thread will be used in a color that is easy to see.

Pricing is .01 per square inch.

Keepsake Pockets

Giving a quilt as a gift? Why not have Pat add a keepsake pocket to the back of the quilt to make it extra special? You supply pieces of scrap fabric from the quilt top and Pat will attach a pocket and Velcro flap to hold whatever you like.

Here are just some ideas of what you can add to this pocket~

• Laminated story about the quilt

• Scraps of fabric for future repair

• Special notes or letters from you

• Piece of a favorite childhood “blankie”

• Items for the college bound student

• Vintage hankies
