Quilters need a large flat surface for ironing their fabrics, quilt tops and backings.
Ordinary ironing boards are just not large enough and the wrong shape.
This pattern contains instructions and materials list to make your own large rectangular board out of plywood, cotton batting, fabric and just a few household tools. It is wide enough for fabric yardage and quilt tops. Place this 24″x60″ board on top of your old ironing board, on a counter top or table. Stores easily under a bed or behind a couch when not in use, but once you use it you will never want to put it away!
